I've owned a MemoryMoog Plus for 3 years. It's the hugest sounding analog synth I've ever played. MIDI implementation is crap (just note triggering, really). The internal sequencer (on the Plus model) is not very useful. There are no FX. It's 6-note poly, no velocity or touch. But why is it great? KNOBS, BABY! This is like having 6 MiniMoog's in a single box, with 100 presets! The multimode arpeggiator is another highlight. Very useful. MemoryMoogs are heavy, large, expensive and fragile. They are FILLED with rare analog CEM chips - which are very expensive, if you can even find them. Don't even think about taking a MemoryMoog to gigs. This is a studio-only synth. But it will blow you away with the phattest basses, the thickest pads and the most animated sounds ever from a Moog synth. The filters are like the voice of God speaking.

This is one of the most unreliable
synth in the world. Sounds great with
that phattest 18VCO sounds howver,
reliability sucks. Just becareful when
you buy it.

I have one of these They are really wolrdefunly beautiful both in sound and look. That said, they are not a synth controller (although they do have the option of a hex output that can be connected to a guitar midi controller to generate MIDI).They *are* a wonderful sound source for various (Moog and other) devices, particularly the Moogerfoogers. They also have a (single) CV *input*. So, they integrate well.I'd say that they are primarily a way to make sound (music) in the context of modular synthesis, principally replacing (or perhaps working beside) the oscillator as a source.
