I am going to buy a awe 64 value card, but I want to now how it works with fast tracker 2.08. Because if I am in FT2, the sound quality is terrible when I play a song, with much hard sounds like hard bass drum and hard hi-hat's. The only thing to make the sound sounds better is increasing the soung volume in the CONFIG. But in trackers if you increase the volume the quality goes down. My question is does the AWE64 stop the terrible sound en turning it into cristal clear 16-bit 44,1 Kh music (if I use cd-quality samples offcourse) with the full AMP en VOLUME (in CONFIG.).

Thanks

PS sorry for my terrible english (I live in Holland)

I've got an AWE64 value thingo and I use it with FT2, IT and everything else under the sun.
I must say that I was not aware that the sound quality varies depending on the volume.
Are you sure this is correct? I'm gonna go try it asap to find out for myself but maybe the
reason I've never noticed is because the AWE is doing the trick. My main point though is that if you're gonna get an AWE64 and you can afford it the Gold is way better. I'd like it just for those gold RCA's, plus if you get into MIDI sequencing you'll need more on-board ram than what the value gives you.
