In cuabse SX, MIDI data goes to one track and automation goes to an another for VSTIs. Is it possible to "link" the two somehow? I mean, If I want to copy a part, I have to copy the MIDI data, and then the automation for the VSTI that is controlled by the MIDI lane.

Anybody knows any workaround? RTFM?

only thing i could find is the RANGE SELECTION tool to drag over the midi part AND the VST automation both together (works best if you drag the VSTi-track up and under the midi track it is assigned from) and then CTRL+D to duplicate the selected bar/s and append them to the end of the last bar

there is a preferences selection to force controller data to copy with parts, but not relative VSTi data as far as I can see.... n e more 'regular' SX users know different?

I had an idea for a script once. It's basically Jaws except when the guys in the boat are going after Jaws, they look around and there's an even bigger Jaws. The guys have to team up with Jaws to get Bigger Jaws. I call it... Big Jaws!

I got it! :-)

1. Select both MIDI and automation part (easiest if you move the MIDI track under the VSTi's folder, so everything is together, but this isn't really neccessary)

2. right click menu -> edit -> group

Now the MIDI part is grouped together with the automation, you can copy, use CTRL-d, whatever... kinda rule, just like grouping in reason.

played!... shame you cant just hit a 'group with VSTi/DXi' button on the midi track which would be way cooler that selecting, but i can see it'd be useful in other ways.... Like the old Cubase group Tracks & Groups... I used to use those alot but they seem to have dissapeared sadly.. What they call a GROUP TRACK now is like simply a BUS.
