I'm building my first PC and have been using the dancetech videos on how to build a music PC. I am unable to fit my HDD, CD rom and floppy drive close enough to connect the 3 sockets on the power cable in my case: (http://www.overclock.co.uk/customer/product.php?productid=18324) due to the motherboard power connector preventing the CDROM from fitting the bottom front slot . The power supply in my case has two identical power leads on it so is it OK for me to plug one of the sockets into the CD drive and use the other cable to power the floppy and HDD or do they all need to be on the same cable?

Thanks for any help

Use whatever cable works and you'll be fine. They give you two for just such a situation as you are facing right now.

Hi Julian, glad the videos were useful. as Psy says there's no requirement to use all the same power plugs on one lead, any that'll reach - btw, you can buy extention power leads at any pc-fair for a few pence

I had an idea for a script once. It's basically Jaws except when the guys in the boat are going after Jaws, they look around and there's an even bigger Jaws. The guys have to team up with Jaws to get Bigger Jaws.... I call it... Big Jaws!!!
