Dunno anything much about this unit, except it's basicaly the SR16 sounds, with a few more reverbed tom sets... trigger inputs to work with pads or a midi kit are added, and that's it.... an SR16 with no sequencer, and I think you can access all the sounds from a midi chart on this unit... still 4 outs i think...... not a bad option to the SR for an all-round pallette of drums, or a star RnB & hip-hop box with some eq to fatten those ultra-clean samples.

The D4 is a very versatile and good-sounding piece of equipment. Best way to use it is to exploit it's analog "trigger" inputs. It's not the "DR-4" - its the D4 and it's not a bad unit.
How it really shines is as a drum interface. With triggers (or even some cheap little speakers) you can use the unit to control just about any MIDI device.
Perfect for live work.

This machine really rules!
I produce industrialish Darkwave/EBM music and there the much cleaner than clean drums fit in absolutely perfect!
And for the more noisier beats i send it thru a Boss MT-2 Guitar Distortion or give it the drive direct with the mixer-gain (EEEEEVIL!!!)
So go out and buy one my son!
