This is a fantastic machine only let down by the sound of it's converters. Too much colouration for my personal taste, same converters to be found in Mpc2000xl, S3000, S2000, so if you have ever heard any of these then you know what you are in for.
Some poeple like this sound, personally i don't.
One other feature that makes this superior over all the other previous Mpc's is it's ability to resample the main outputs!!
This is a fantastic feature, and anyone who is serious about sonic manipulation will realise why this is so good, as it gives you the option to route the whole mix or just individual sounds through external processors for audio mangling and then is able to record the results back as a sample....Brilliant!!
You can then convert any sample as a wav file for burning so it becomes possible to do a complete mixdown for uploading to a computer all within the 1000!
I just wish it sounded better so i give it a 4 out of 5.
