I run a DJ company and I have purchased 4 VMX-1000. I have had DJ's drop them even had some one spill a full drink into one and it still works. I do admit they are very quite, but they will take the abuse like a red headed step child

Behringer VMX1000 is a sturdy quality mixer. good functions - highly adaptable - lots of options for a board in the price range.

Is this user away with the fairies?! Where did you buy them from? I have used a Behringer VMX1000 for almost 10 years without any problems whatsoever. They are an incredible mixer, easy to use and very forgiving on a learner. Perhaps FRED should try the ON/OFF switch in the top right hand corner (THICKET!).

I own a VMX 1000 but until recently had no reason to use the microphone. Upon trying to mix the mic signal with that of music no voice signal was apparent.

Further testing without music and applying only the mic signal with the microphone switch on produced a signal on the led output metering
But NO output heard on the amp and speakers being fed by the vmx 1000.

I tried both mic channels and played with the DPT and Sensitivity controls but no result except the output meter indicated the mic signal was getting to that point.

I am able to hear music and visualize it on the output meter and I can see the mic signal deflecting the meters.

The music can be heard in the system being driven by the VMX 1000 but the voice in not heard at all.

I hope I've detailed my attempts enough to elicit some input.

Thank You
Sincerely,
Chuck

Chuck, I have the exact same problem/question as you. How do you
record/mix the mic signal? I have tried everything you have but still
can't get the mic input recorded. Help, somebody, there has to be a way.

terrible mixer. pro features but they are low quality. bpm counters are for show... signal meters are inaccurate... so hot that it has distortion even at 0 gain output.. mic inputs so hot they are barely useful. if you do not care at all about sound quality then this mixer is great. just make sure you turn it on before connecting to PA or you may hurt someone. I couldnt wait to replace this. ill take a stripped down denon or allen and heath zone 22 over this piece of junk any day.

Hi everyone,
I also am unfortunate to own a VMX 1000 Pro, (Can't see why they call it that) well, as far as I'm concerned it is a cheap piece of S*** , sound quality is very wimpish, the controls feel cheap and nasty, very low output even with the levels on the back wound right up. Like people have said on here the microphone input is basically shocking. I bought this as a backup unit about 3 years ago and as far as I'm concerned, its not a patch on my old KAM KAP 1500 and other KAM mixers which I have had for many years and are still working perfectly. I've also noticed The VMX 1000 gets rather hot on the back to the point where it smells quite funky, its not just mine, a mate has one too and its the same. Its been living in my loft for the last 2 years now, so..... my opinion, BEST PLACE FOR IT. :-)
Respect Everyone, DJ T.
