Ok, I got these headphones looking to upgrade from my boomy, ear-crushing technics dj headphones. Did a bit of reasearch and thought these looked like a good choice.
I got them back from the store and threw on some vinyl and... two words...
HOLY SHIT
My god these things give accurate response. Possibly not as flat as $1000 Grado's or $4000 Staxx, but effin' great.
The open earcups give the sounds a transience that i've never heard before... I'm never going back to closed-cup headphones... I dont care how noisy the environment is.
These headphones really shine when put through a decent amp though, as the ohm-rating is like 500 or 600 or something, i forget exactly. They will work without an amp, but it is best to get one.
These are toally comfortable headphones... i wear them for hours in my home-studio in the middle of the night and my ears dont get tired at all.
The frequency response bulges in the high-end spectrum a bit, which may be unconfortable for some people, but i find it refreshing.
Other than that, a totally flat response curve.
Some people complain about a weak low-end, but i disagree, it's just a more *accurate* low end.
I love these headphones.
