Here's a useful older console you can grab from the free-ad's in your area, the Studiomaster 12:2 console. It's a simple affir with 12 channels featuring 3 band EQ with swept Mid and Bass control, 20dB pad plus line input & direct output per channel. 3 Auxiliaries, aux 1 swithcable for pre/post fade. Aux 1+2 output on jack, aux 3 on XLR. For the master out's section, you get Main outputs plus 2 track output and monitor output.
All in all the older Studiomasters are superb, don't underestimate these older British mixers, cos remember 'Sweet Dreams' album by Eurythmic's was mixed at home on an old 16 channel A&H board as far as I know -
Old Studiomaster mixers can be a tad hissy (that can be upgraded tho which is probably worth it on the bigger boards), but their sound & imaging is really crisp and their eq is great - remember on this small 12 channel mixer you get a swept mid AND a swept bass eq !! - you get a real phat thumping sound from old Studiomasters that puts many newer boards to shame. If you see one of these 12:2's in the free-ad's check it out before you decide on a newer more expensive mixer.
