The OBmX promised to be the Xpander for the 1990's but failed. It was notoriously unreliable with extremely expensive voice expansion options.

The OBmX pictured above was the prototype, the released version has a larger, centrally positioned LCD.
It offered switchable filters between the traditional multi-mode Oberheim SEM type and that of the MiniMoog.

This isn't a true Oberheim synth which
made by Tom Oberheim. That's why it
doesn't sounds good as other Oberheim
synth like Expander. Very cheap
sounding filter and very expensive. I
would recommend you to get a second
hand Expander!!

UNBELIEVABLE synth. With enough expansion boards, there is nothing that comes close sonically -- even today. One of the best beasts in my arsenal.
