Dear Sirs,
I have been asked to shop around for advice and prices on the construction and eventual purchase of a recording studio. This is likely to be a ground up set up and from the little research already done I understand that it is possible to work entirely digitally (as opposed to multi-track systems) thereby bypassing the need for extensive racks of 'stuff' and saving space in our limited control room space. I am advised that 'Protools' is the way to go but I don't know why or what other options are available.

So to summarise:

Protools. What would it cost for you to supply me with a working studio including all amps, speakers a selection of mics, cabling and all software etc.

What other options are available and what advantages/disadvantages do they have over Protools ?
