it's not there REFX CLAW

REFX CLAW

Blimey!! - this is one of the best freeware synths I've tried - what more do you want for basslines and more! - sweepable triangle/saw/square osc, hi/lo-pass filter, PWM & more inc' even some basic delay fx built in!
REFX burst onto the scene with the fabulous JunoX synth which is a Alpha-Juno clone sorta thing - it's superb anyways and has a loyal army of users.

Anyways - I popped over to their site today and found this - CLAW

heh heh - great name eh, and this is one superb free synth.

I dunno, kids today... they don't know they're born! :) - if we has shit like this for free when I started making tunes we'd have been in heaven!

This is free... and it 100% rocks... you get a single osc which can be swept between triangle, saw & square wave, including somewhere in-between each... so it covers your 3 classic osc' types ... the synth has PWM with 2 types of sync (or off/free) you get a switchable hi/lo-pass filter which also has switchable velocity settings for: off and -/+ velocity setting... You get an overdrive to push your sounds from anywhere from gritty to screaming blue murder!!...

Next comes a PAN section - hmmm... odd for a freebie again, but you get two MODES:

1. basic normal pan, far left is left, far right is right.

2. switch it to the other MODE & the pan knob controls how wide the panning field is. Every other note is panned to the left and every other to the right. Far left knob position means that the signal is always centred. Far right knob position means the every other note is panned far left and every other is panned far right.

Oooh! - cool huh!... and then finaly you even get some delay section fx with delay amount, time and feeback... All in all, it's pretty deep for a simple freebie and sounds SUPERB!!

One for the armoury definately!! - if you want more details you even get a super full-colour detailed .PDF manual with it!! - bloody hell! a manual! - you don't get that with a freebie very often.

Well well!! - REFX seem to be racking up to challenge the majors the way they are going on, and bloody good luck to them I say!... this superb free offering will only serve to bring them yet more publicity.

for a bassline/lead synth regardless of wether it's FREE or not I'd give it a solid 10/10!

Get it downloaded from their site asap!

Great, simple to use, dependable synth, and pretty good sound - just tough enough to make a great lead, a little flat by itself, but that's what effects are for!

Pretty cool little plug in. Does nice leads and has a nice simple delay that really phattens it up. Not the most versatile plugin, but definitely worth the price. I use it as a DXI plugin for Sonar. Installed easily, presets very useful.
