"The Drums", is a neat little sequencer programme just for creating drum patterns....I originally discovered the older version...but the US distributors sent me the newer version which has some extra facilities...I kinda like the old one tho'.
The screen lays out in a grid like the old Dr Rhythm machines.....as you change the quantise value, so the screen is re-drawn with a tighter grid......
The programme comes with a few instrument definition lists, but you can create & save your own, by simply renaming the drum notes, the adjusting the note numbers....just like the drum map in Cubase.....
All in all, a very useful programme..... It's small, loads in about .5 of a second, is simply laid out, and due to it's layout and note inputting method, would seem to be ideal for getting dance drum grooves together..... also, and i don't know if this is my imagination, the programme seems to be tighter or more robotic in its feel than a larger programme like Cubase or Cakewalk..... Anyhow....
....Download it....(It's a very small code, less than 1 Mb)...... Give it a go, and send the Fabio or Midibrainz your dosh, after which it will export midifiles !!
You may be a bit wary about sending dosh for reg. codes, but I 'mailed Ron at Midibrainz about this:
....also, what do people do to register outside of the US....People are very wary about transatlantic deals.....what they want is a local distributor with whom they can relate.
