The DBX ProVocal is an excellent multi-effects unit... The mic preamp is analog, and the rest of the processors' functions are DSP. The Reverb stands out as excellent and unobtrusive. The Chorus/Flanger effects are VERY obvious, and useful if you are looking tor that type of effect.....much nicer and smoother than most plug-ins(even hi-end) that I've used(Waves, TC Works, etc...). The compressor is heavy-handed....and unlike most of DBX's analog units, you can almost always hear it working.....works well for drums and bass......but for vocals it's more suited towards live sound rather than studio work. The Delay maxed out at about 1.3-1.4 seconds on my stopwatch and is clean and clear with the option for almost endless feedback.....One complaint on the delay line: When a mic is plugged directly in, the delay effect seriously reduced the gain and subjective "punch" of the vocal.....possibly this is due to the compressor being BEFORE the delay (although I'm not sure of that at all!) The DeEsser/Gate is functional....though the gate is more of an expander, as you can never truly "cut off" sounds. DeEsser works really well...just be careful to dial it in properly otherwise you'll hear it working. This unit is worth the $300 or so that it's going tor in most pro-audio shops.........can be found for much less on E-Bay.

Rob and I went to Etang De Vost in early October 2011. As we arrived we were greteed by a beautiful looking woodland lake. As we walked round the lake we noticed a few fish topping and thought we were going to be in for a good week. The first two fish wereon the bank within an hour of starting, we were still setting up the bivvys. The week was cold but managable and alot of fun. The fish were very hard fighting and they looked alot bigger than they actually are. A wonderfull week and we will be back, maybe in the winter for the pike.Caught almost 50 fish in the week, and had 4 over 30lbs, biggest at 39lbs.All the fish fought really well and were prestine. we also caught a few original fish. Thanks must go to Ian for looking after us and making our week amazing, also many thanks to bill
