Behringer's nextgen Eurodesk - this is the 24 channel version - Full video review including full explanation of the various facilities for beginners all the way.
Our Church bought Behringer sx2442fx early December 2008 and the problem is the both fx processor light keep flashing and the pulse rhythm comes through the main speakers .to stop that sound i have to press the both processor selector knobs together .Please tell me what is wrong. every thing else works very good.
they are flashing cos they need to be assigned, it sounds like you have the fx outputs permenently turned up and routed to you main mix with some sort of modulation preset running if u hear a pulsing noise - just learn to use the mixer properly first. if you turn down all the fx outputs and still get the sound, then yes you might have a problem.
The previous mixer (SL2442FX PRO) was exactly the same. The preamps weren't pattented, and now, after the pattent, they are called "xenyx"
it has the same 24 channels, the same 99 Virtualizer parameters...everything the same.
Our band (bar band) just recently purchased the reviewed board. Fantastic 'reviews', very helpful. I have a question regarding 'live monitor' use.
Our PA package came with the board, FOH speakers, two monitor wedges and two amps (and other "stuff"). One amp for the mains, one for the wedges. I believe both amps have XLR and 1/4.
I am the drummer and I have a Shure in-ear system, hard wired with a 1/4" to "A" on the snake. Right now we feed that "A" to AUX SEND 1. Thus I can hear at varying levels, each vocalist/instrumentalist. We simply set a volume level I liked at each channel with the AUX 1 knob and send it out the AUX SEND 1 (volume controlled by the AUX 1 SEND volume knob. I also have a volume control on my in-ears).
I know they have been having trouble getting a "loud enough" signal to the floor wedges monitors. Not helpful, but I do not recall where they currently plug into on the board. One guitarist thought it best that the right side of stage gets to hear what the left side is "doing" in their "right stage" monitor...and vice versa. That aside, I assume it is possible to run the monitors with maybe only one cable a "channel"/xlr/1/4 inch cable? They currently have both plugged in "somewhere" on the board.
When I saw what you did for "studio" monitoring that even seemed to make sense for live mix. They only want a dry mix. I feel the whole band should be heard by both sides of the stage. Regardless, I guess my question is, keeping in mind a separate amp for the monitors, what would be the best/easiest/best controlled way for them to wire
the wedges to the board?
1 or 2 XLR cables?
1 or 2 1/4 inch cables?
And where would you take the signal from; AUX SEND 2?
The "PHONES" out like your studio set up with one 1/4 split into two?
Again, LIVE use.
Thank you again for your detailed work on the videos.
Question about the AUX solo - Can you solo A1 and A2 separately or are they both a combined global solo?
Awsome review. I watched all the videos. I am now confident with my past training plus what ive learned here, I can now use this mixer tonite at a local gig. The boys will be happy.
Thanx F.D.Brat

Hi, I just bought the sx2442fx from Behringer, and it's a great machine, but I have a small problem, when I use my computer for drum on track 5 I hear the sound Ok in my headphones, but on my monitors via an amplifier, I got a compressed sound, I was looking on the user manual, thant usually they use this track for the bass, is there a way to remove this effect of compression or is it always on this track? Thank's Claude

I had the same problem, the affects processor circuits were dying. As
they started dying they pulsed through the mains.
Problem with behringer sl2442fx-pro - fx1 not displaying - fx2 is flashing(sometimes 5 & sometimes 25). If I turn the board off & on a few times, fx1 flashes 1, & fx2 flashes 25, but neither will set when I push the buttons. If I push fx1 & fx2 at the same time, fx2 displays 8. The manual is not clear on how to program fx. There are no troubleshooting reference pages. can someone help?
Just bought same board, used for our church. Did you buy yours used?

Amazing review mate. Besides your high-level obvious knowledge of sound and what everything on a mixer is/does, you made it through the Youtube allotted time. That in itself is a serious accomplishment when there is so much to explain about a large format mixer. I would like to see another video explaining why and how on certain features, such as why do I care if I can route the effects to subgroups 1/2.
Really amazing job and very educational. You know your stuff!

Great reviews,
We bought the sl2442fxpro about 2years ago and it's working fine and no problems yet thank God. I'm thinking of upgrading to the sx2442fx and i'm wondering if I really should or just continue with the board that's working fine. Is the board really that bad or is it just like any other piece of electrical equipment that can malfunction at anytime due to unseen factors like spikes in the voltage or moisture or irregular use. I'm just curious thanks.

Well, I would like to thank you for your explanation!!!
Hi, I am just a freshman in this hobby. Thanks for the excellent review of Behringer SX2442FX and it's features, which I'm considering buying for my self. I just wonder if it needs active speakers or power amp to drive speakers for a community assembly? How long would the speaker cables need to be? How many speakers can be connected to the mixer? Please help.
Hi this is a great mixer have loved learning on it however out of the
blue our fx channels have gone blank and don't work... Can someone
provide a wiring diagram or solution to this problem...Thanks G
Hi Kilo,
How is the SX2442FX holding up? Must be 3 years use now if you've still got it.

I have the 32 channel version (SX3243FX), and use it for anything I can
at the club I work at. I've never not been able to do anything with it,
except use the built in TALK BACK MIC effectively. When I turn the level
up past the second mark, I get all kinds of feedback. I've only been
running sound for around five months now, and have picked up everything
practically by myself rather quickly except for this issue. Has anyone
else had this problem or have any idea how to fix it? Also, we don't use
the MONO OUT. Is it recommended that we do? Any kind of advice would be
greatly appreciated. Thank you :)

there's no use for the talkback mic in a live situation. Its designed for studio use. use the mono out to feed an active bassbin or pair of bass-bins if you like.
what happens when you turn on the low pass filter on the mono out?
you've said that the low freq goes out to it but how about the hi freq?
will the main outs produce only the hi freq?
What a great review! I watched all 90 minutes of it. Very helpful. I will be picking up one of these bad boys soon!

Mixer- Eurodesk SX2442FX
On the first day, that I started to work with my brand new mixer,It worked about one hour without no any interruption.
But after that, display units of both effect processors, began to blink.
Then sound like crackers came through the main speakers like continues gun firing.then I turned off and packed it.
After few days I switch on the mixer. Then the same problem began after few minutes.

Trying to help a friend, so I do not know much about this thing. Is the fx channels the same as the dual 24 bit processors? Because both of his are blank and will not work, but everything else does.

Mixer- Eurodesk SX2442FX
It is the worst mixer i have ever seen.I lost big money because of this ugly product.
I could be use or hire, instead of firing crackers for festive seasons.I have mentioned about it clearly in my previous message.
It must have a failure in its original design.
SO DO NOT BUY IT...........

Dear All,
I have the same fx problem as yours, that both fx processor LED keep flashing. The main problems come from +5v digital supply from Switchmode PSU to the main board connector that supplied FX board digital circuit (incl. RAM). Try to bypass X5;8-9 from PSU to main board. As I learn, that Behringer did not give us good enough connector for this board.
I hope this information will help you.
Sorry if my English was so bad. The important things that we can share our problem and find the answer.
Thanks.
Additional note:
SL2442FX-Pro FX Problem:
0v DGND (digital Ground) and 0v AGND (analogue ground) has separate secondary output from SMPS. If FX LED blinking, the possibility is the 0v DGND was not in good connection to the FX board (through the main board).
I hope this will helpfull
Hi all,
I got the same FX problem in my SX2442FX.
The two FX LCD displays kept flashing and sending noise to Main Outputs.
In another forum I read a (hidden) post about how to reset FXs.
I successfully fixed this problem following the "reset and auto-test"
procedure.
Here the step-by-step procedure I performed in my mixer:
1) hold down the 2 FX knobs.
2) switch on the mixer while continuing to keep the knobs down
3) now the 2 LCD Displays start auto-test procedure (every component of
the display starts to blink / flashing )
4) Then I used to press/rotate one FX knob (I think the right one) to go on
with the procedure
5) Then I tried to repeat all the previous steps about for 5-6 times. In the last
one, the double LCD Display started to run the following words: "Behringer
2007 (R) - FX reset ..etc etc" (or something similar).
6) At this time I understood the FX reset was successfully completed.
Then I carefully tested my mixer and this issue was completely fixed.
I hope it helps.

I have a Cymatic LR-16 live recorder and a Behringer mixer. The recoder only
excepts TRS send/return line level inputs. How can I make a custom balanced
cord for sending a channel signal with no return and no interferfence of mixer
signal for recording each channel separately as a .wav file in the Cymatic LR-16
live recorder?
Is there a way to "Daisy Chain" sound cards or interfaces (into one/out to
another) via USB then finnaly going into a PC as the default sound card used in
a recording program like Protools,Audition,Sonar etc...which even with ASIO
there are problems somebody mentioned setting "there clock" ? HELP!!

We bought the mixer used it for a night, toward the end of the night both EFX
processor started to flash LEDs were active and we got white noise through our
system. Any idea of why this did this, very concerned that this board will cause me
problems. Definitely made a difference in our sound will love it as long as I can get
over this problem.
