S&C Develop's 'SC 101' is one of my favourite VSTi's both because it sounds good, and it's fun to use and look at! (sad i agree!) - when you buy from SC Developments you get a bundled deal... 15 FX VST plugins and all their synths including SC-drums and SC-Virtual sampler, SC MonoPoly-16 & SC-101 - all for $40 bucks! - checkout their site...
The SC-101 is pretty close considering it's s/w to the ral thing notwithstanding you wont get trigger inputs etc - It's good for garage & hardhouse basslines, techno stuff, lead sounds, trance etc etc, not a chords synth tho really.. here's the SC101 spec's...
