The Retro AS-1 is a well rated VSTi - check it out!...
This is the 'Retro AS-1' VSTi synth from Bitheadz software... Here's the site info:

Retro AS-1 VST (currently Win95/98 only) is a VST 2.0 plug-in version of the Retro AS-1 software synthesizer. The VST 2.0 plug-in standard is a specification developed by Steinberg™ that allows users of Cubase VST® to use plug-ins as virtual instruments within their sequences. Utilizing host CPU processing, VST 2.0 instruments can recieve MIDI information and output corresponding, sample-accurate streams of digital audio, all within the same application. Additionally, VST 2.0 instruments can be processed with other plug-ins for truly astounding sonic possibilities. Retro AS-1 VST offers several advantages for users of Cubase. Retro VST has the ability to activate up to eight instances of itself, for access to more that 16 MIDI channels. Each Retro AS-1 VST "instance" has the ability to store multi-timbral setups for individual MIDI channels with the Cubase ‘Save Effect’ function. All Retro VST patch data can also be saved within song files, so there’s no longer the need to transport patches separately.

Retro AS-1 VST comes complete with 1,400 factory sounds that include banks of Basses, Leads, Pads, FX, Drums, Classic Keys, and more. Support for existing Retro AS-1 format sounds allows the user to load, edit, and save patches with Retro AS-1 VST that are fully compatible with Retro AS-1 for Mac and PC. Of course, the pristine sound quality, MIDI sync-able LFO's and delay, and flexible modulation routings of the AS-1 are all included in Retro VST. Full automation of all synth parameters is available, and musicians will appreciate the new, easy to use interface. Retro AS-1 VST is the perfect compliment to Cubase. Plug-in to the creative power of Retro VST!

Important note: Retro VST is not set up to work with Logic™!!!
