ok... Dancetech competition time!!

As you know, anyone can join up as an ARTIST or LABEL user and add tracks to the site for lo-fi modem streaming. It's 100% FREE, and you don't even have to endure banner ad's!

Ok... there's been some great tracks added so far, and we've been offered some competition goodies courtesy of Propellerheads & Cakewalk... so we thought why not run a BEST-TRACK contest!

HOW TO ENTER

Simply join up as a dancetech ARTIST or LABEL user via the 'LOGIN/SIGNUP' menu choice from the SITE SECTIONS selector at the top of the site.

After getting back your password and Logging-in you automaticaly get taken to your admin section - You can also go there anytime by logging in again when you re-visit, or by selecting 'LOGIN/SIGNUP' again at anytime you are on the site -

You'll see two selectors on the top of your ADMIN section when you enter the area -

The LEFT selector is called: 'MY DETAILS & MY MUSIC ADMIN'

This is the selector for all editing of your profile & your added tracks -

Complete your USER PROFILE, ('Edit my Profile'), then add your track or tracks via the menu choice:

'MY Online Tracks - Add Track'

Up to 3 tracks can be entered per user.

IF you add MORE than 3 tracks, (cos you can add up to ten tracks at the moment per user), you need to nominate which 3 are your choice for competition entry - to do that, go to your TRACK EDIT section by choosing:

'MY Online Tracks - Edit Track'

You'll see that each of the three (or more) tracks you have added has next to it a numerical selector - Simply choose which is number_1, 2 & 3 etc... then hit the:

'Create Stack Order' - button at the bottom of the track list -

Put the top 3 in position 1, 2 & 3 in your track list if you have more than 3 added tracks.

ok... now go to the: 'Music Tracks' forum, via the FORUMS selector at the top of the site, and see the Discussion: 'TRACKS COMPETITION' thread on that forum.

Enter the discussion and add yourself to the list - we want all entrants to add themselves here so we have a definitive list to refer to.

Also, all your tracks you add & your user-profile link automaticaly to your forum posts at Dancetech - so it's easy for us to click on each person in the forum 'Competition' list and listen to their track entries!!

THAT'S IT!!

We'll run the contest for 10-12 weeks to give people time to get their shit together or remix stuff & get it uploaded before choosing the two winners, plus a runner up who'll get something cool which we'll sort out as a surprise runner-up prize.

THE RULES

TRACKS MUST BE ORIGINAL COMPOSITIONS YOU CREATED, AND TO PROVE IT, AND TO STOP SOME CRAFTY PEOPLE UPLOADING SOME OLD OR LESSER KNOW CLUB HIT THEY HAVE RIPPED FROM CD OR VINYL & ENCODED TO MP3, WE'LL WANT TO SEE A COPY OF SOME PART OF THE WINNING TRACKS IN ORIGINAL MIDI FILE FORM BEFORE RELEASING THE PRIZE.(THIS IS ONLY TO DISCOURAGE CHEATING SO DON'T GET TOO HUNG UP ABOUT THIS WE PROBABLY WONT EVEN NEED IT)

TRACKS ENTERED DO NOT IN ANYWAY GIVE UP ANY COPYRIGHT - THEY ARE YOUR TRACKS ALWAYS - WE DONT HAVE ANY CLAIM OR RIGHT TO USE THEM FOR ANYTHING IN ANYWAY WHATSOEVER WITHOUT YOUR PERMISSION - F*CK THAT RUBBISH WHICH SITES TRY TO PULL WITH COMPETITIONS - THEY ARE YOUR TRACKS, YOU OWN THEM, AND THAT'S THAT - SURE... WE'D LIKE TO SHOW THE THREE WINNING TRACKS ON THE SITE WHEN WE ANNOUNCE THE WINNERS, BUT THAT'S IT.

YOU MUST ENTER THE 'TRACK COMPETITION' DISCUSSION THREAD DISCUSSION THREAD IN THE 'MUSIC TRACKS' FORUM & LEAVE YOUR NOMINATION TRACK/S - DUE TO DANCETECH AUTOMATION SYSTEM THIS WILL ALSO THEN LINK YOUR FORUM ADDITION/ENTRY IN THE THREAD TO YOUR ADDED TRACK/S SO WE HAVE ALL THE ENTRIES IN A NICE LIST.

YOU MUST ALSO LIST IN THE 'TRACK COMPETITION' DISCUSSION THREAD WHICH OF THE TWO MAIN PRIZES YOU WANT TO WIN IF YOU WIN - SONAR OR REASON - WE'LL CHOOSE TWO MAIN WINNERS ONE WHO ASKS FOR SONAR & ONE WHO ASKS FOR REASON.

JUDGES DESCISION IS FINAL - BRIBES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED, (ER... UNLESS THEY ARE SUBSTANTIAL & ARRIVE IN USED FIVERS IN A BROWN ENVELOPE BY THE COMPETITION CLOSE !! :)

THE PRIZES WILL BE SUPPLIED BY THE S/W COMPANIES TO THE WINNERS DIRECT BY POST AND IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO GIVE THEM A CORRECT POSTAL ADDRESS & GET IT REGISTERED PROPERLY WITH THE COMPANY ONCE YOU RECEIVE IT.

TRACKS WILL NOT BE JUDGED WINNERS BASED SOLEY ON PRODUCTION QUALITY IN TERMS OF 'EXPENSIVE GLOSS' - IT'S GOOD MUSIC WE SEEK AND THAT'S NOT DETERMINED BY TONS OF EXPENSIVE GEAR - SO IT'S A FREE FOR ALL, AND EVERYONE STANDS AS MUCH CHANCE AS ANYONE ELSE EVEN IF YOU DONT HAVE MUCH GEAR.
