it's not there Silverspike Tapeit

Silverspike Tapeit

Listed under 's/w fx' on this site because it is a plugin, but actualy this plug allows you to record a named wav file from wherever it is inserted!!... cool!
Silverspike make a few plugs, and this is an odd one and a very goo didea, 10/10 for originality!.... the 'Tapeit' plug allows you to record a named/titled .wav file from wherever it is inserted!! (windows only)

So you could insert this plug anywhere or use it in a send/return chain etc and after choosing the dir & file title you can record the audio directly at that point in the chain!... Wonderful for grabbing audio files of FX in isolation etc or other nifty tasks... Use your imagination with this one I'd say...

Here's the site info from Silverspikes website:

Silverspike TapeIt is a VST-Plugin to record audio streams creating wave files in real-time.

You can plug TapeIt into your VST host application at any point accepting VST plugins. Unlike most other plugins, TapeIt does not change the sound of your audio. But, while copying the sound unaltered from input to output, TapeIt writes it to a standard WAV file. This way you can grab any audio signal that appears at one of the plugin-points of your audio application.

TapeIt expands the possibilities of your audio software by adding exciting new export features:

  • Use TapeIt as a channel insert plugin for quick track bouncing.
  • Put TapeIt in the master channel and record your music even with audio software that doesn't offer an audio-mixdown feature.
  • Record your VST instruments in realtime while playing.
  • Put TapeIt before and/or after an effect plugin to record the dry and/or wet signal.
  • Use TapeIt to monitor any specific point in the signal chain.
  • Use more than one instance of TapeIt simultaneously.
  • Use TapeIt with your favorite VST enabled audio software: Cubase VST, Cubase SX, Nuendo, Wavelab, Logic Audio, FruityLoops, Orion, n-Track Studio, AudioMulch, Spark FXMachine, RT Player Pro.

Furthermore, TapeIt can be used in DirectX hosting audio software with the help of a VST-DirectX wrapper like VST DX Wrapper Pro (by SpinAudio) or VST-DX Adapter (by fxpansion).

Key-Features:

VST2 compatible.
Various WAV formats: 8, 16 and 24 integer, 32 bit float. Mono and stereo.
Manual and automatic recording level adjustment.

Well!... There's some ideas of how you could use it... a very interesting little plugin utility...

Anyone use this?... please leave some user comments.
