The Alesis ADAT/EDIT package contains everything you need to form a powerful digital audio link between any model of ADAT Digital Multitrack and PCI-compatible Power Mac or Windows computer. Using the enclosed ADAT/PCR card and the included ADAT/CONNECT and ADAT/EDIT software, you can send audio at up to 24-bit resolution into your computer, graphically edit your tracks and send them back to ADAT for mixdown, archiving and transfer with sample-accurate precision. You can also use your favorite WAV or ASIO compatible recording and editing software with the ADAT/PCR card. With ADAT/EDIT, you get the best of both linear and nonlinear recording technologies.
saw this mentioned at the chat room & went off to get the low down.... it's alesis.... ADAT EDIT is a PCI card & s/w compatible with adat's & adat converters... this card also sync's the adat itself sample-accurate, so perhaps a must for adat owners looking at the idea with other contenders.. the price alone makes it frippin' cheap whatever !!.... anyways.. 8 in - 8 out adat pipe...
as it stands, it doesnt seem to have a monitor out.. and no s/pdif.. options that are therefore against it for a wider set of uses.... although you could monitor on multi-adat outs... designate a pair.. but still... it's an 'Against'
Best thing is pop over to the page.. check it out.... there are a few adat units about.. midiman, korg to name 2... (see cards), and this go with adat dig-In equipt mixers etc..
