Tannoy System 600

Tannoy 600 series - there is a passive & active version - nearfeild monitor with tannoy's famous dual-concentric speaker design. Well worth checking out. Also megneticaly sheilded.
"The classic Tannoy two-way dual concentric driver technology offers single point source, full bandwidth, phase coherent wavefront reproduction. The integrated 2 x 75 watt power amplifiers in each speaker, enable the System 600As to deliver a typical maximum SPL of 117 dB at the mix position. The 6.5 inch dual concentric driver is loaded within a bass reflex cabinet with two flared port tubes, providing a 44 Hz - 20 kHz frequency response, at +3 dB."

That's the press stuff........ Tannoy speakers use a single speaker chassis with a bass driver and mounted inside that is a centrally positioned tweeter unit.. This is called a 'dual-concentric' speaker, and Tannoy are famous for them... Advantages of Dual-concentric speakers is a single sound point source... bass AND trebble audio waves all eminate from the same central point so stereo imaging is excellent, and you get a good image without having to stand exactly in the 'sweet spot' right slap-bang in the center of the speaker feild.

There are two units in the 600 Series - Active and passive... The System 600A self powered nearfield monitor is based upon the System 600 dual concentric passive design.

For the ACTIVE speakers, inputs are balanced, combined XLR / 1/4 inch jack connectors and sensitivity is switchable between -4 dBU and -10 dBU. Additionally LF and HF contour switches allow for close to wall mounting and provide a +2 dB HF boost respectively.

The System 600A (active) is also among the most competitively priced, mid/ close field, self powered monitor systems available; guaranteeing a professional standard, fully matched, high performance amp and speaker system.
