Soundcraft Absolute 2

Spirit Absolute 2 nearfeild monitors by Soundcraft.
Absolute 2's are well known, well reviewed, and well respected speakers... in the feild of choice for a nerarfeild monitor at the top limit of what i'd acll 'budget' territory these speakers most be included in the comparisons... if you want more see the www.. try a google search there is plenty of stuff about them..

I never used them myself, just adding them in so newbies can see various popular models to get an idea of what's on offer...

They can be bi-wired by the way if you like to run that setup...

If you have used the Absolute 2's, feel free to add some user comments please..

Awsome speakers.
Purchased mine 7 years ago. They have been stored for 4 years and after recently dusting them off and wiring them up again they still work like new.
Definitly recommend these excellent monitors to anyone. They are accurate, LOUD and the bass keeps coming. You'll never get over such a huge sound from such small speakers. They don't wimp out, and as mine have proved, they last and last. The rubber around the bass speakers doesn't age and split like other monitors so you know you can trust these to last long and serve you well. Get some!!

My pair of Absolute2s were bought in the year they were first released - must be ten years ago, now (?). They'll handle ANYTHING, as loud as you like, got enormous travel in the main cones, and are still looking and sounding absolutely superb.

I got these back in '95. They're still in service and I won't replace them anytime soon. Excellent speakers!

Excelent sound quality, reveals exactly how good or bad a recording really is. These speakers can handle 90 watts rms power input and can go LOUD but equally are very acurate even at low to moderate levels. I use them with a NAD C 370 amp rated at 120 watts rms per output, and they handle the power fine as i use them carefully and dont go above half vloume. They are perfect for a small studio or as i use them in a small to medium sized bedroom. The only problem with these speakers is once you get used to how good its sound quality all other speakers under £450 dont sound as good, and little tinney japanese micro systems that your freinds have sound unacceptable! One note is they take a month or two to wear in and sound at their best, and for your ear get used to how music should really sound.I bought the speakers new for £180 and they are woth every pound and the sound quallity can be compared to much more expensive speakers, i highly recomend them even if your neighbour may not!

I used these speakers over a 4 year period - they are fantastic. They are reliable, accurate and stylish. I have used them for nearfield monitoring and monitoring on stage (as a keyboard player) with no problems. I had to replace one tweeter during this period but it was only £40. I have now upgraded to Genelec 8040a 's at £1000 and these are obvioulsly MUCH better, but for £250 or less? BUY THESE.

I HAVE A PAIR OF THESE FOR SALE NOW WITH A SAMSON AMPLIFIER - EMAIL IF INTERESTED (THIS WAS POSTED 30th MARCH, I anticipate a quick sale)

I've been advised Absolute 2 by a close friend that his father is one of the professor in Hi-end. I pick it to my room and play "Autumn in New York" a record by Ella & Luis, so i don't believe in my ear. It's fantastic sound from this speaker! The bass is so deep, the treble is so clear and With the price nearly $300, i think it is the best choice for my need !

I've had mine since '93, and STILL the centerspot of my studio. I produce for
national television, and these certainly get the job DONE.

I am pretty new to this field.

I am planning to set up a home studio. I have a Korg M3-61 works station, 1 off
MR-1000 Audio Recorder, 2 absolute 2 studio speakers, head phone,
microphone.

I do not have suitable amplifiers to drive studio speakers.

Can any one suggest the amplifiers and a hook up diagram that works.
