yeah, thats the thing that makes it so superb, you get facking huge bass in the middle, and timbale like rang-a-dang on the rim... plus in the countryside they are audible for about a mile or more... that 'Saa' sample is toilet tho, doesnt show the djembe's quality at all... well lame..... actually, the best djembe's i've ever seen and played are made by a brit living in mid-wales... he makes 'em by hand traditional way, but uses british woods like sycamore & ash... fuck, the fattest i EVER played with the biggest most controlled bass, and the finest most gorgeous treble-end, i played one at his workshop and the windows nearly fell out when i went for the bass notes i swear !!!... and man, i've played hundreds of them, but he charges like 300 quid a drum which was out of my price range when i met him, he also makes real Conga sets with tension pegs etc... i'll post up some cool samples soon

Yeah they are wonderful drums aren't they. I got a 12 incher that was carved on the Ivory Coast by the natives. It sounds so fucking rich!!! I've actually put down all of my samplers and synths lately just to play my drum and "become one with it."
