I gots me a G&L I bought in 82, 83 or so to replace a piece o' crap Hondo I had before that. I wish I still had the short scale Vox Bill Wyman model I had to sell to pay the bills once, that one was fun. yep.

'Funk used to be a bad word...' Funny the images
that word conjures. For a while it meant bare
chested frat rockers and then it morphed into this
hippie thing and yet the original article is SO
beautiful. I'm talking James Jamerson, Larry
Graham, George Porter Jr, Bootsy, and whoever it
was who played on Curtis Mayfield's Superfly
(check out the break in 'Freddie's Dead' where
there's this violin swell and this FIERCE bass

When you hear true funk, it's humbling because you know you could NEVER recreate electronically. Sure, there will be great synth funk, but the truly funkiest of the funk will always be human. And rarely will it be you. Long live funk.

agreed - funk is real live shit with low down and dirty basslines.

I had an idea for a script once. It's basically Jaws except when the guys in the boat are going after Jaws, they look around and there's an even bigger Jaws. The guys have to team up with Jaws to get Bigger Jaws.... I call it... Big Jaws!!!
