I had an idea for a script once. It's basically Jaws except when the guys in the boat are going after Jaws, they look around and there's an even bigger Jaws. The guys have to team up with Jaws to get Bigger Jaws.... I call it... Big Jaws!!!

SO fucking fast. I am amazed every time I do anything with it!
running 24+ tracks right now and its not even touching (less than 10%) the disk or CPU.

If you were to go Intel, you could have a much quieter machine because they (Northwoods) run so much cooler. You don't need case fans, only the CPU fan, and even the stock fan is very silent.
I've got a 1.4 Athlon and it pisses me off with the amount of noise it generates. I tried to compromise between noise and temperature but it's not very easy with AMD. Currently I'm running at nearly 60 celcius all the time, which is quite high. I could turn the fans to full, but that'd make way too much noise.
If you have to go AMD, don't bother with the 333 bus speeds, as the performance increase is negligable compared to the extra cost. Get a good 266 board with some 2100 memory (all of it would be very cheap now) and you'll be flying.
Si.
