1. Use the sample window (waveform) and shorten it there?
2. Use the decay slider on the env (when I use this it seems to just make the sample way quiet)?
3. Use a noise gate plug in?

not EXS user (not yet anyway), but i guess editing the envelope would be your best bet? thats what i did with h/w anyway.

what kinda drum samples are you working with? also, what kind of drum pattern are we dealing with; i.e. closed/open/closed/open high hat or something more like a snare roll?
i'll check into it this weekend and let you know what i come up with.

My work around is to load several of each sample (three usually covers it) that I wish to alter the decay of and alter the note end point for each sample. It's a pain though and if anyone has a solution, I'd also like to hear it.

I have to disagree (again). I think the exs is excellent for drums. It SOUNDS wicked. Sure it doesn't have all the options of other soft samplers and the filter is a bit limited but for Logic intergration and SOUND its tops.
