well, Detoit techno & European Techno are about as similar as....as.....er.....well as two things that are in no way similar.......I think Techno is a crap title to apply to european what-is-called-techno, cos it confuses the two............we need a new name.......

How about TICNO.............er......TACNO......er...TACHO's.. yummmmm......NOTECH...I dunno............

Yeah, like back in 88, if you used a 303 the music was acid not techno. Most of the real techno back then from Juan Atkins, Blake Baxter, Derrick May, etc, etc, used gear like Poly 800s, DX100s and anything else they could get their hands on because that's all they could afford. FM synths were a major part of the techno sound. How many people use FM as well as those guys did nowdays?

Europeans killed Techno, simply by using that name for stuff that wasn't even music. Yeah sure I can think of a few people who are and were doing decent stuff, but on the whole it's all shit music only put together for a bunch of fucking mindless morons tripping out on an e or some other shit. Most of those records only last a week or something. Detroit techno in my opinion is timeless, because there's emotion there and the people making the music aren't just in it to make a quick buck, OR pound?

I agree this music they call techno all over europe should be called something else. How about calling it Trashcan music? That's where a lot of it ends up anyway..........
