Yo - So I had this old Rage card and I got glitches in the audio whenever there was heavy picture movement on the monitor, and even with my new Matrox dual VGA card, I am having this problem. Both cards are AGP. Any thoughts? I read k's article about this, but he only mentions PCI cards. Are these the same in this instance, sharing PCI bus? If not - how do I fix this problem? Thanks.

Both set to "DMA if available".

right click on the desktop, select "Properties" Pick the "settings" tab, then click the advanced button. Find the slider for hardware acceleration (mine's under "Troubleshoot"). Drag it all the way to the left (no acceleration).

Any difference?

Hey Craig - It was set at full acceleration so I moved it to none. Next time I started Sonar, it had a problem with my audio card. Would this inhibit my audio card in any way?

Ack - I just rebooted using "none" (as opposed to full) and I still got a drop out when I minimized Sonar and when I minimized the Console view. Gotta be something else.

Well, I'm searching through the Sonar support forum and it seems that there is a resizing bug that will be fixed before the new year. Hopefully, that will take care of it. I'll keep you posted - thanks for all your help guys. Much appreciated.

Oh, yeah... I never do anything like that while playing/recording. Just use the view I'm working with or switch to the staff view from track view. Sometimes there's a delay in the new window showing, but not usually a dropout or audio glitch.

Such things are an annoyance though.

Matrox cards can be bus mastered. Meaning that they can control the PCI Bus (for games and video editing). Turn this off.

i know this is fairly obvious but i thought i'd give it a shot... did you make sure you're using the latest driver for your video card?
