the nisha cd is nice, lovely voice and great production, laid back beats.
you didn't get much credit on the sleeve. how come you don't have your picture in there. complying to the faceless techno producer edict ? ;p

as for the welder track, will wait for the full cd, i love aural surprises

thanks everybody>

1. mike...you're all right...man!
this place could use a few more of you.

2. rags...thanks for the wonderful melody and your steady friendship.
(when rags gave me this piece..he called it "a tiny little idea"
which i might be able to do something with.)
ya gotta love the guy.

3. k...always big thanks to you and zazza for your undying efforts to keep dt / 7161 going big and strong. in my undying efforts to do the same....in my own way.....
i'm always aware of the energy and resources required to do so....which is why you'll never find me in the prone position here.
it is my firm belief that what we do here is important.
the simple fact that you've given others a format & environment for doing so
puts you (as i've said before).....on my heroes top-ten list.
you came before others...and you're still here kicking.
my eternal thanks.

4. nutonium......i'm glad you've ended up enjoying the cd.
i'm given credit but just no pictures.
she regularly suggests we start working again....
problem being her limited availability.
i have one commitment, besides to my survival and to being intact for my family
(if and when they need me)......
and that is to the music....and so it shall be.
ain't life grand?

again...thanks everyone for listening and for your support.

gave the nisha one a listen. diggin the sounds and movement. crunchy lofi drums and all

not feelin the vocals at all. a couple points where her voice sounded a bit off to me

thanks influx for peepin it.
yeah...she does this weird little layered harmonic at the beginning which can feel a bit strange. and then there's the basic level of angst throughout..especially in the chorus phrase.

i've often got into this...especially with women in my life who've wanted to find some fault...but it's always my understanding that you can't appropriately express pain without evidencing some in your voice.
and then again...some things simply take time to absorb.

i had one girl singer who sang this line:
why don't you love me?!!!?!??
why DON'T YOU LOVE ME!!??!?!!!!?!?!

and it was PAINFUL...it felt painful...it sounded painful... but to me.....it sounded SO PERFECT. i mean...when ya got someone on their knees and make-up's running down their face and mouth contorted and crying why don't you FUCKING love me?!?!?!?!?!
d'you think they should be in tune?
of course my girlfriend at the time said i was totally wrong...and of course i agreed (not) and went about doing what i do.

speaking of WRONG.
i have a sort of cool fucked-up dreamy wrong-ish remix i did of a steb sly drum-beat/song (electric boogaloo 2001)....which he gave me permission to use.
needs work in a couple sections but he seems to like it.
he's canadian so i don't know if he can be trusted.
but.....just something different.

heh...emotion is rarely perfect, is it. Youre right.

and yeah..it was more the intro vocals that caught me

and..to be honest...the topic feels a bit tired to me.

I otta give it another listen though, just because first and second listens are quite often not enough

yeah..as for initial listens....sometimes they're enough and sometimes they're not.
then again...it's just a girl singing a song.
enjoy it if you can but don't force yourself.

not all of us can like the same cup of tea and not all of us like that same cup of tea all the time....just as well.

but thanks for your comments and listens influx.
they're much appreciated.

and oh...yeah...she and i write a different sort of lyric.

i wrote 90% of the lyrics of step into my world.

not that you don't find guys also crying and moaning about loss and betrayal and heartache and those fun things.....
but i think i boys and girls often write different sort of songs.

i think girls mostly want to write about their feelings and emotions and relationships....and boys want to sing about the larger world around them.

not always....but i think there is this tendency.

I had an idea for a script once. It's basically Jaws except when the guys in the boat are going after Jaws, they look around and there's an even bigger Jaws. The guys have to team up with Jaws to get Bigger Jaws.... I call it... Big Jaws!!!
