for years. ok, well, maybe there are TWO a7000s.
but first, some history: back when Sequential Circuits
went under, they made a sampler called the Prophet 3000.
1987, 16 bit, and a wired remote (hmm are we finally
seeing that now?) very cool. unforunately they were
on the rocks and never really got to finish it. the
company got bought by Yamaha. they re-released the P3000
in Japan only under the name A7000. very few were sold,
and it was quickly discontinued. They were eventually
let go from yamaha, and were hired the same day by
Korg. They went on to make the Wavestation, and i think
some of them are still here at the research center
here in Milpitas....
So: I have heard rumors about another a7000, which
can't be the same one, because the specs sound like
a modern sampler (128 voices, gobs of ram, fx, etc.).
the p3000 was just an 8 voice, 2 meg sampler, no fx
(unless you count the analog filters in the voices).
i have a p3000, and it's very cool, but nothing you
can't live without. an a3000 is quite a bit cooler...

Also funny: I'd thought my original posting was obvious enough sarcasm, that only an idiot wouldn't get it. Next time I'll be careful not to offend the idiots.
Perhaps you're a bigot, in which case we all know what kilo does to bigots on this. But I doubt it. You're probably an idiot.
