What is honest music? I feel that I've been writing more 'honest' music than I
ever have. How can I tell? I really don't know, to tell the truth. Maybe it's just
'cause my music lately has been minimalist, abstract and atonal and those
words sum up my life right now. But how does that make it feel more 'honest'
than the stuff I was writing when I was happy as a child chewing my cheeks off
and waving glowsticks in front of my face? I dunno. Maybe I'm just old and self-
righteous now.

It's my birthday tomorrow. Turning twenty-seven, and just about to finish
teacher's college. At least I'm out of my composing slump...phew

funny...Ive been thinking a lot lately, too...that motivation thread mighta got me goin...

realized that all Ive ever done is "breaks" around 135bpm...

oh..one DnB track...but...Ive never strayed! that scares me.

I had an idea for a script once. It's basically Jaws except when the guys in the boat are going after Jaws, they look around and there's an even bigger Jaws. The guys have to team up with Jaws to get Bigger Jaws.... I call it... Big Jaws!!!

The tough thing is that the only one that can really guage that 'honesty' is you. I
don't think I trust myself with that much responsibility.

im better at writing moody tech house than i am skanky funk house which i prefer....certainly dont know which is the more honest of the two or if picking up my guitar is more honest then both....

heh..but..that would be even more dishonest.

actually would really like to hit on some downtempo breaks/instrumental hip hop stuff ala ninja tune/shadow records.

then again..just doing what comes to you is being honest, isnt it
