Can you recommend any internet resources where I may find samples of singers, speeches, vocal EFX, etc for download?

xoxos, you have an interesting point, in that samples juxtaposed to represent something in your life add meaning and "context" to a track. I agree that this adds a personal depth to a work of art, that is only superceded by direct speech or vocals describing the theme / story. very good point.

but on the other hand, "recontextualization" is the opposite process, where you use something from a different context in your track's context. for example, sampling phrases from old films or shows that could mean something else if you phrased or ordered the words differently.

some academics argue that recontextualization (in a broader musical sense than just vocals) is the basis of modern urban music.

I think it's obvious that early samplers and computers gave rise to this form of music (re)creation.

heh, I wanna go sample something now. gonna put my new nomad jukebox 3 (which rules BTW) to work.
