Hi all.

I've got a trusty old Amiga 500 kicking around that I haven't used for years. I was wondering if its possible to MIDI enable it somehow for use as a sequencer or as a sound source or something...? Any ideas or is it not worth the effort?

Hey Phallus... and also the best 'french fries' eyh ?
No, Amos doesn't exist on PC, and I'm pretty sure it never will.

Galleyslave: I did some commercial games on that machine, not Amos but assembler. Never were a success or big hit (though one of them got re-released for the gameboy last year).

Like what games PH? Anything I might know?

I used to use protracker & octamed... that was my first exposure to electronic/computer music. I dunno about getting 16-bit sound out of octamed even with some hardware thing... I think the somehow you can get 12-bit or something but dunno about 16.

At least though I think that using it as a sampler is possible.. octamed can midi sync... thing is most of the things you would you an Amiga/Atari for you can do on a PC anyway... so if you've got a decent PC the 'ol beast is destined to stay in the cupboard. I don't yet see a use that justifies buying a midi interface for it.... being poor 'n all.. ;-)

Still trying to find that 303 emulator thing though... could be fun..

Amazing how that Amiga speech thing appears in so many songs... I heard some crap thing the other day that goes like "i'm a disco dancer" - "fantasy romancer"... that has gotta be an Amiga. Shite song though.

Well ... could be the A...
I think it has been done using the speech synth
on the Amiga... but it could easely been done with
the Atari or even the C64 (Say it Sam)....
And yes, that tune realy stinks !
Fuck, they'll release anything wont they ?

The PC will never be able to simulate the Amiga !

Coz the whole architechture on the PC sux compared to the
Amiga !!!

To compare AMOS with Windows 98, makes me laugh...
The AMOS fits on 2 880 kb disks and Windows ????

AMOS never (almost) crash ... Windows ? Welll.... Hmmm...

(I might add that nowadays I only use PC)
