Can you use them with wav files and use it as a sampler (1100DX)?
What about SCSI?
They are going filthy cheap in the Loot at the moment!

I always use a power protect board and I use a souncanvas mk2, cause it has a midi interface built in which connects to the serial port (SC-88 would even be better as the old canvas's sound has shit dynamic range due to fucked A/D} , then I turn off the midi channels I want to use for other sound modules on the sound canvas using sysex. Always turn the sysex recieve on the other modules to off otherwise the sysex for the canvas may fuck with it. I just use the media player as this gives flexability and midi files don't take that long to load off the hard drive. Also if it's just midi then a 486 with 3.1 is enough and they're not very expensive. dale

my 8600/604e, makes no noise, screen plenty big, you can
get an external chassis for an admittedly thousand bucks and have PCI slots and there's talk of sound cards going into the scuzzy port (i think) -- guy at sam ash NY says
he knows a guy running pro tools off a laptop...who needs
a monster computer? All you need is five grand, shit, I've
got that on me...but you guys are all PC freaks anyway I'm
obviously at work...
