I've seen 'em from $1699.00 down to around $1300 in the Boston area. Mail order houses reflect the same.

$1300 seems pretty common now that the hype's died down.

Hey Mindspawn,

Could you tell me the name and adress of the place you saw it at 1300$ ???
Thanks, that would save me some bucks.

Ludo

I saw 'em at Guitar Center and E. U. Wurlitzer for around the same price. E. U. was a little higher (by about $50), but if I were to buy it again I'd pay a bit more as Guitar Center pretty much sucks when it came to service and support (IMHO). The guys at EU and Daddy's Junky music are much more helpful. I'd rather pay a bit more and get service I can count on.

Peace

hmm...
I called Guitar center (i am in Dallas) and they guaranted the "low price" of 1499$... That's why I was asking where you saw it at 1300$.
Now, if anyone know a online place where i can get it at that price, I'll be glad.
Thanks again,
Ludo

Grandmas mail order is like $1395 you could probably get Guitar Center to match that if they do that.

where did you see it??? i'm buying at that price....

another thing - i'm using a pinnacle card that has digital i/o (s/pdif) and if i get an a3000 will the a/d and d/a converters be better quality - ie, would it be a plan to send my signals to the a3000 input, then s/pdif out to the pinnacle's in, then pinnacle s/pdif out to a3000 in and finally a3000 d/a out?

or is that just too complex? i would get rid of all the internal pc-noise though, wouldn't i?

guess i'll just try it......but then again, buying the s/pdif expansion for the a3000 depends a lot on that.....

To Rouge:
Like "bill@plig.net" said where? And was it a v2?

I guess the new prices on the Akai range should start
putting a bit of pressure on the A3000 prices soon, so
maybe I'll wait just one more month...

so ... in the states... you guys have independant sales tax in different states do you??.... id yes,.... what happens when a store sends stuff mail order from state to state?...... is it like the tax is paid at your resident states tax rate, or is there a universal sales tax nationwide??.....

If I order gear from another state there is no sales tax. The US Government has the right to regulate and tax interstate commerce, but individual states do not. So far, the government has decided not to levy a sales tax on interstate commerce (I don't know why. They're taxing us to death on everything else)

go to savedbytech.com (or savedbytechnology.com... can't remember which and call em up asking for the price -- $1349 is what they quoted me for an a3k... make sure you spec us dollars... then go to your proce matching place and have them call em up -- you might print out the us/canadian exchange rate for them ahead of time.... got my ex5r for 1579 us intead of the low low price of 1910 us at sam ash in nyc this way. they have about the lowest real world, quote them over the phone prices i've found. Guitar center and sam ash margin their shit really high but will match prices. also, for emu and waldorf go to eurosynth online -- their prices for rarer shit are usually way low too.

BTW -- my buddy just piched up a a3k demo model for (it made me weep) $800 the other day (sold as new). ooof!

I saw it either in Turnkey or Sutekina (both in London).

Check the recent mags - its advertised in there.
Sound on Sound or Future Music !

I'll have a look for the phone number.

Sutekina

Yamaha A3000 £899 UK

Tel: 0800 371 129

or 0171 379 3398

Assuming you live in the UK.

Yeah, the Akai prices have gone significantly down!

I've now seen the S2000 for as little as £549 UK and the S3000XL for £949 UK.

I still don't know hy the Akai costs more than the Yamaha though!
