I've heard a lot of what i think is vocoder, but i've never been really sure of what it sounds like. Here are some examples...

The hi-pitched singing behind the main growling in Kevorkian Death Cycle's "Lifter"
and pretty much most of the vocals on X Marks the Pedwalk's "drawback" (the album)

please tell me if these are what a vocoder sounds like. i would really appriciate it. thanks.

Check out Uberzone...lots of use of the vocoder..."Moondusted" liftoff sequence...thats a vocoder...running another input through a synths sound parameters, right?
sounds damn cool!

well in the states all you gotta do is turn on the hip hop station and you'll hear a vocoder in 5 minutes. think old time funk, or new style funk. whatever the style is called...

"Iron Man" sounds more like a ring-modulator. I'm just waiting for someone to say that the Daleks were vocoders
too.

No, the daleks were nasty aliens that tried to take over good old planet earth.. Vocoders are not likely to be doing this in the near future (I hope)
