Anyone use these for producing drum tracks and would you or would you not recommend these units.

its not MESA.

the MPC shows up as a drive, and you just drag files over to it. I dont think theres any editing SW or anything of the sort, is there?

Since the MPC looks like a drive I don't see why you would need any "dedicated" editing software other than Sound Forge, CoolEdit, or Wavelab, etc. It's not like you have to do key mapping or anything.

Yeah I hadn't thought of that. An S6000 is much more complex in architecture, so it would need something like MESA.

still might be cool to have all features on a screen

anyway..just found out that the memory for the MPC1000 is proprietary. really kinda fuckin lame.
