yeah,

I need to know what causes bad sectors on a hard disk.
Is it a physical thing??
my computer is on the ground and i have people jumping around recording and the floor is
not really that solid. The computer does get shook when you pound on the wooden floor.
So could that cause bad sectors on my hardrive.??
What else can cause bad sectors??

.... you´re right, mechanical shock could be the reason for bad sectors.

Due to mechanical shocks the HD-heads touches the surface of your HD.

To provide this put your PC on soft rubber feets.

Other reasons for bad sectors:

- temperature shock
- electrostatic discharge
- magnetic fields

Ciao
