well, a controller is designed specificaly to control external modules and other synths/samplers/drum units - it's simply a keyboard with facilities to send bank & patch changes and controller information to other units so that you can work conveniently from one keyboard (for most tasks)

However, this particular keyboard doesnt offer anything in the way of controller knobs or sliders... in todays world of soft synths, and for todays dance styles where control moves are de-rigueur for synth parts, you MAY want to look at some of the other opfferings on the marketplace which offer a unit with a master keyboard, AND a good compliment of controller knobs for twiddling your synth controls in realtime.

There's no drive because this unit has no sequencer and consequently no extensive data to store

specs

76-note controller keyboard for MIDI studios and performance
Synth-weighted keys respond to velocity and channel aftertouch
GM2-compatible; 128 User patches and 2 independent keyboard zones
Easy to use with improved 7-segment LED and assignable Data Entry slider
Convenient sequencer Start/Stop buttons, Clock TX and Transpose buttons
Includes 2 independent MIDI outputs, MIDI In and Thru, plus Hold and Foot Pedal inputs
Battery or AC powered
