I don't fucking think so mate, unless Detriot is a town just outside Leeds!

And this shit is better reserved for the rant/drivel pages, not tech talk.

Gosh chaps, it looks like we've got a typical dumb yank here! Detroit! What a pile of cack! The dance scene started in Manchester many years ago but its dying there now and continuing elsewhere. Where do these Yanks get there ideas? Did you watch the World Cup? NO, you live on your own little planet called the USA! You think you're so great 'cos you play your own stupid sports and win your own shitty sports but if theres a little bit of soccer going on around the rest of that planet called Earth you just deny any existence of it 'cos you no you haven't got a chance playing a real international sport! Blow 'em up I say! .... Whoops I'm in the wrong pages here ....

No offense Ferg, but he's right!....The Dance scene started in Manchester Many, many years ago, about '84 is my estamate, but i was too young to remember..! Shit man, even in '88, '89 when the likes of 808 State started to show the world what you could do with an M1, a DX7 and an 808 drum machine, Detroit were still head banging to Aerosmith!!....Hey no offense meant to the Detroit scene though...all the cities that have embraced dance music throughout the world have added a little inspiration along the way!!! Much respect to Mr Fingers!!!

I stand corrected.

As for soccer, I've only been able to watch a few games so far. And here in Toronto if you don't have The Sports Network you have to watch them in Portuguese or Italian.

Not to be pushy or anything...does it really matter where
something was invented...I'm sure gambling wasn't invented in the desert but when you think of casinos you think of Las Vegas!! To you Brits Manchester might be the capital of dance but the rest of the world identifies with the phrase "Detroit techno". To Mr. Geek (or whoever
you are), there are better ways of correcting Ferg's mistake than by calling him a "typical dumb yank". Believe me, I'm sure we have our share of idiots on both sides of the pond. Soccer is a great sport...but I'd rather watch the Red Wings win the Stanley Cup Finals any day. Finally, who really gives FUCK, we all love the music in our own weird way, and that's why we're all here....can't we all just just get along?? (had to say it)

Actually I think you'll find that the English invented dance music. Whilst you yankee wankers* were still into Bon Jovi and The Bangles and eating your fucking jello, we were forming the foundations for dance. Lets face it this argument can go back to the one about Europeans being better than Yanks thread all those months ago.

* thats if you can find it.
