howdy,

okay since my mixer's deader than chandra leavey, i'm gonna have to do a really weird signal processing chain...and wanna know if i would have any problems doing so. to hook up all my synths to get to one out put, im thinking of hooking them up in this way:

JP-8080 Output-------->Nova Input

Nova Output------------->Virus Input

Virus output------------->soundcard ins

so would that create any delay or have any problems? gonna have to rough it like that till i get a mixer lol

Andrew

does it do that even when absolutely nothing is plugged in?

actually, did you go over all of this in another thread that i missed?

also, xosxos is right.. building a cheap ass mixer is easy. in fact it gets even easier when you just need two ins.. you can do a two channel mixer with just 2 10k resistors and 2 10k log pots.

anyway, with schematics it might take you a day to make a decent one. and you can buy faders too if you don't like the idea of knobs. They cost a buck or less CANADIAN (at least where i live) so that's like... 70 cents or less for you.

You can probably find any number of 8-12 channel Behringer mixers in servicable shape on Ebay for under $100 USD

THIS is why I love this place. Right on, CydoniaCell.

I use the MX602a as a line mixer running into a patchbay for my AN200, DX200, and MicroQ, its a fine sounding little submixer with routing options that gets the job done.

A little background...

Influx heard that my zip drive broke... and sent me his SCSI zip drive... with the idea that I would "compensate" him in some way or another... then i flaked... and flaked some more... I never did compensate for it... and I always felt a little bad for it... even though he's so friggin' cool that he told me last that he didn't care, didn't want money (never did)... and enjoyed messin' with me about it... lol... I still feel a little bad that i never did kick him anything for his trouble.

So i learned a little genorosity from him. And when I saw that Andrew needed the mixer it wasn't a second thought for me... Hey, man, you're still welcome to it... maybe as a little "cosmic" payback to Influx? I dunno, that's not what I was thinking when I offered it, but maybe Freaud (or, more likely Jung) would have something more to say it about it...

So ultimately, thanks Influx... he started it..

And yeah, Dancetech is an awesome community. even if we do trivialize all over the friggin place all the time...
