Can someone help me with a bit of advice. I want to create original jungle or prodigyish beats but I have no idea where to start. I know how to create standard house type beats etc. I would like to use samnples for the drum instruments as a dont want to fork out for a new drum machine.

ps HammerHead is cool but I need something more original

well if it's deep enough, it just adds some cool sub-bass type stuff that gives it a good vibe, without really being identifiable as a particular note; therefore it doesn't interfere with the bassline.

Also, that timestretchy idea i suggested doesn't give you beats that sound at all the same as the original; they sound sort of mechanical and robotic; which, in some places is cool, but can definitely be overused.
