Folks I'm sure you have some first hand experience with these.

I know that these LCDs have an "exact" resolution, like 1280*1024 for 17" ones. What happenes if you set the display to 1024*768? I guess it has to convert the picture, but the real question is: how does it look like? Does it have jagged edges and double lines (horrible) or it does some interpolation ? In other words: does the image quality decreases if you use it in some other resolution?

another problem with CRT's is reverse interaction with speakers... I get hum from my old Gateway monitor.

Well I've just sold my TFT cos it was causing a great big nasty 2k tone through my mixer! It was caused by the TFT backlight inverter and it's not easily fixed, so I flogged it. I'm now on a Hyundai 19" CRT and I'm happy as a pig in shit!

It was a Proview BM568. Slightly dodgy brand I know, but the picture quality was great, and I thought I could live with it but came to my senses after about a year of putting up with the interference. I saw identical screens being sold branded as Fujitsu.

This Hyundai CRT is great, only 128 quid plus VAT!
