I know I know.. Its most likely gonna be a crappy little corner part of the much bigger Video Forum event however does anyone fancy going.. then head onto
somewhere better for a more sociable beer, food, chat etc?

Some of Darkstate will be going (me, Jam, Jenny, AndyT), 0dB (RAT) said he's coming too..

So.. Sox? K? BluStudio? Jock? Anyone else fancy it?

Can you guys have a look for me on Mackie's and Genelecs stands (and digital village) to see if anyones doing any deals on HR624's, or 1030's

Well... first the good news... it was definitely a bigger event than when I went two years ago.. more exhibitors, less guitar kiddy stuff (oh wait, that was "Music Live") and more seminar type stuff (read product demos) if that's your bag...

The bad news is that it was still pretty shite, not much retail or bargains, only a bit of hands on stuff.. nothing new.. more seminar type stuff (read product demos) and very little "show totty"...

Still not any where close to being a "Musikmesse" or "Namm" for us UK bods..

Oh.. and I heard of a demo of the "LOLA" Vocaloid.... HILARIOUS!!!!!

It lacked loadsa kit to play with too, Rolands stand was very dissapointing as they totally devoted it to Guitar processing. No V-Synths or VariOS. Piss poor. Although the rest of the show was much more studio focused. Albeit small.

And yes, Vocaloid is shite, I really didn't think it would be as bad as it was. It sounded like a poorly sampled Speak and Spell. Apart from a few 'Ooooohs and ahhhhhhhs' which sounded OK it was only any good for typing in rude words.

Even the included demos were pants. One to revisit in a few years I think.
