Subject: why the hell won't my cs1x sequence?

I just bought a kawai q80 sequencer and i'm having
one hell of a time trying to sequence my cs1x with it.I'll record track one on midi channel 1,then track two on channel two and soforth.When
i try to play the tracks back simultaneously only
one track will play and it won't play the sound i recorded, it will play the sound that the synth is currently on.To play the other tracks you have to set it to the midi channel they were recorded on and it will only play them seperately with the
sound that the synth is set to at the moment.How the hell am i supposed to playback tracks simultaneously with the sounds i recorded for them?Could this just be my own stupidity of not using the sequencer right?I read about the cs1x having some kind of problem sequencing because you could only have so many performance sounds recorded at one time or somethinglikethat.Someone please help me for i fear that in a fit of rage i will soon smash both devices.I really really want to learn how to make music so please help.

Channels 1 to 4 are all used by the main performance voice. So if you're in performance mode you're gonna have to send your first track to channel 1, and your second track to channel 5, and so on. And make sure you have the local off or I dont think it will recieve patch changes. Only one performance can be used at a time, but the material voices that make these performance can be used on channels 5-16 the same time you're useing the main performance. I suggest you pick up the cs1x "blue book" I think its available for download off the yamaha uk cs1x page. This book has all your answers.

Sound like a problem with Local on as well.. try turning it off and see if that helps.

dont know shit about CS1x, but does it have an OMNI mode (to recieve on all channels?) would that even matter?
