Hi i have recently started working with a new guy

my question is this :

I use a computer setup where as he uses midi gear and a Roland VS-2400CD for
recording... we want to incorporate everything but would like some quick advice
on the best way to connect everything... following is our kit list

1) Pc with audiophile 2496, cubase sx and reason
2) Roland VS-2400CD
3) mpc 2000 with filter rack
4) Novation v station
5) mc 505
6) roland sp 808

we really appreciate your advice...i think i have a good idea..but would prefer
a proffessionals point of view... one thing i should mention is that we dont
have a midi interface other than the soundcard...so things will have to be
chained until we get one..Thanks Oli

P.s . forgot to ask also... would the computer just be another tool for
sequencing and synthesis or would it be the final recorder as opposed to the
Roland VS-2400CD being the final recorder ?

I would dump tracks from the roland into the computer, and finish things up from there. If you had a mixer that could handle the recorder's tracks plus your MIDI gear you could slave the recorder to the PC using MIDI Timecode, and mix everything externally.

Thanks for the above advice .......i was hoping for a little more info.. i wonder if you could elaborate a little ....i appologize for sounding ungreatful...its just i want to get on and make some tunes...i think the thing that is bugging me is syncing up the computer to the roland v s 2400 and also where would the mpc come into all this..as it is a very powerful sequencer by itself....

You could hook up the hardware to one of the MPC's midi ports if you want to use it as master and sync the other MIDI port on the MPC to your computer...
