it's almost there - check it out - see what you think - I still have to do the create/edit online-album bit in user admin - but the rest is pretty close apart from the odd bug and graphic tweak.

see if you can find any bugs please - especialy searching and browsing and stepping thru from track to artist to track etc and then using the 'Go back to search'

seems ok to me so far

Lookin nice K. Didn't find any glitches. One question though. Can I change the interface appearance (colour scheme)? The white-on-black is a bit hard to read on my TFT.

DAMN! - ..... would be possible to implement a white bg scheme - but i don't want to get into lots of schemes/skins like on DT it's too much work for now

gotta get every little bit working first before I can think of that tho - perhaps your TFT screen needs a driver or is set wrong for contrast??

i found a bug the other day... when using the search function to look for DJ's i couldnt play any mixes directly from the results page. i had to click oin the username, and then play it from there.

err weird... seems to be working now.

please ignore what i said...

I had an idea for a script once. It's basically Jaws except when the guys in the boat are going after Jaws, they look around and there's an even bigger Jaws. The guys have to team up with Jaws to get Bigger Jaws.... I call it... Big Jaws!!!

there's a little bug here left over from when you moved i think. i cant delete a track coz it has a track image not found thing. haven't tried updating the image and then deleting though.

Nice one K, idea though.

I clicked on BROWSE to search breaks & beats artists (it's not that obvious that you need to click on browse but its probably just me being stoned) and up came the list in what appears to be alphabetical order.... problem is it's almost impossible to find anyone in paticular as you can only browse them using meaningless numbers, so it's guesswork as to how to get to the letter 'P' or 'F' or whatever.

Is it possible to have this give you an alphabetical choice of how to list the artists ? Having a numerical list within each letter is fine but otherwise it makes searching a little un-user friendly.

All in all though, top stuff. Looking forward to getting a few more toons up there :-)

btw - I've added all the new compile album stuff and Stack Track play order stuff to the dancetech admin - it's REAL easy now to stack your tracks in the order you want them to play in when someone clicks STREAM ALL TRACKS on your page

also dead easy to compile and order the playlist for an album

i do too but i was thinking it'd be cool if there were a choice of of 2 or 3 basic templates.
and one thing i always felt would make for a clorful user page is if the viewer could see all the track-images the way the user does in his admin/edit page.
instead of no user image...perhaps a dt logo as a default. i think that would be aesthetically more appealing.

i don't know if you got my mail...but i got my loan and since your paypal isn't quite set up yet...where do i send my check?

K... i know its big, but its the only logo that fitted

anyway... pepps with 800x600 should get a new monitor or get used to it. lot of websites out there are optimised for 1024 today...

I agree, but actualy you'd be surprised how many shelf/shop bought PC's such as from TIME or PC World are set at 800 x 600 - what about lappy's?

clay - how about an IBAN number - your bank can do a simple (and cheap) transfer using our IBAN etc numbers (it's an international bank protocol thingy that ID's a bank & an account - thomann use it to pay us for example - it costs them peanuts.

the other thing is of course, the bandwidth and time required to load ALL track images with each artist-page load - some artists have 20 tracks added!

I too will send you a xmas gift, though it would be great if you could set up a simpler donation system. Dear lord, my man, you'd be doing aight with even a voluntary donation system. At least that much better than now, no?

Anyway, in the meantime email me the whatever numbers and next time i go to the bank (which doesn't happen often, but I'll make a special trip for ya ;) yer set. I couldn't imagine being without DT. Sad or not, that's very true.

one thing i like about the original artist/user page/format is the fact that you can send feedback to the artist from the song-page....and the link to do so is at eye-level almost as a bit of encouragement to do so.

with the new format you have to go BACK to the main artist page and scroll down to the very bottom to find the feedback option. and only if you got there via the artist home-page to begin with. otherwise you wouldn't even know the option existed.

a minor detail but significant i think.

i've made this point before but apparently the larger vision is to have 7161 function in a different manner for the user......and
the way in which it will be connected to an outside seller like ...maybe zounds...
is something which could be pretty cool too.

nothing to do with zzounds or any other sponsor - just it couldnt carry on as a section inside this site - plus the new one does all styles of music - I personaly listen to all styles, dunno 'bout you?

Hey k - question. I'm listening to the compilations you've got going, but the status bar at the bottom says "error on page" when I click the "details" button for the compilations. Okay - I'll admit - I'm trying to find out if any of my stuff made it. :-( But it would be nice to see what's on where.

I'm making a few variations on an 'all-black' rock/metal templates for homepages

just added a 'Crass' section headers graphic thing:

Gonna add also an old gothic style set too - I guess most rock/metal bands want black Bg

the problem is the Bg colours for the page & header rows can be anything the artist sets, so these non-text header graphic's will have to work only with a certain Bg header-row colour.
