well here goes...I can't get the midi IN on my soundcard to work; I just bought a little interface thingy for it and it outputs just fine but won't receive. I removed cakewalk's stupid virtual piano from my system.ini file and set the input on the Signum jobbie to AWE64 MIDI IN, nothing happens when i transmit from a keyboard. (No, it's not just that program, cakewalk doesn't respond either....and i know the KB is transmitting because my MC-300 receives from it.) Anything I can do? Am i being vague? Help?

in Cakewalk, go into 'MIDI Devices', and highlight the AWE64 MIDI IN, then click OK. set track 1 to play Ch1 on the soundcard - getting anything?

if that works, then try setting up a track in Cakewalk to play a track on your sampler thingy. i'm not familiar with that sampler prog, so i can't really help you out with setting it up...

bugster...

are you coming out of the MC303 and going into the computer? Controller--->MC303---->Box?

the MC303 doesn't have a Thru...so you'll need to reroute if this is how you're currently setup...you didn't give a lot of details...

it's not an MC303, it's an MC300 sequencer. Big difference. Great seq, and I want to use it with the DX1100 software sampler to make beats...

Anyway I have the sequencer configured to transmit, and i know it works because I've tested it on a MIDI keyboard. But my computer won't receive from any source so I'm sure that's what it is. Also I know the computer transmits; i've tested it. So how do i turn on the MIDI in? I've never used it before, except the internal AWE synth internally sequenced, so external midi devices are new to me. Anyway is there some kind of setting in a .ini file that I should know about? Sound drivers? I don't know how i can explain much better than that...
