take a hiphop pattern at 90 and speed it up.

There only seem to be 2 dnb patterns these days:

boom boom cha chikalika boom cha

and the 2-step thing:
boom _ cha boom _ cha chikalika

I'd recommend the reverse of manthra's suggestion: take a dnb break and pitch it down, then try and transcribe it.

I don't know of any MIDI files, but there are some good books with transcribed funk beats from 70s rhythm patterns.

Sorry, didn't mean to be rude. I guess I should have asked what its for. But if you want to make original trax theres no pride in using somebody else's loops, especially when a "basic" drum'n'bass beat is so simple to create.
