Hello

I own an Albino and I'm quite happy with it. I've been looking at the Absynth too though. Any of you guys use the Absynth and you happy with it?

Ta very much.

the one starts where the other leaves off.
if you have just those 2 synths....you'll have pretty-much most of your bases covered.

i say get it. absynth is awesome.

Cheers MCC. So what would you say then:- Albino is better at stabs, drums and general synth sounds and the Absynth is better at pads, leads, strings?

Probably a stupid question really but hopefully you get my drift.

nah... more like: Albino is good for pretty much everything, except totaly weird out of this world stuff that Absynth excels at. something like that, anyway...

yup - agreed - they go together like bacon & eggs - one does your classy rompler/VA 'synth' stuff, the other (absynth) does the weird and wonderful pads, soundscapes & atmospheres.

absynth can do simple waveform but albino just has the overall "synth" thing down so well....
has such a nice library of sounds....has huge fat leads basses and pads...and a great interface for editing..

absynth has this sound where a bass might sound almost normal but always seems to have something edgy about it. same with leads and pads......like you've almost heard it but it just has a very unique personality. just the same it can also be the
most bizarre-sounding things you've ever heard.
it's possible to get sucked up and lost in it.

if i had to have 2 soft-synths only......those 2 would be it.

I would advise getting it. The gui is completely different, and there's a lot you cannot do (or done completely differently) with the other and vice versa.

Also, albino is great for automating every single parameter, while this is not the case with absynth, BUT the possibilities with those envelopes in absynth really compensate for this drawback (like syncing envelope control points to tempo).
